Smith Elements and Controls are suppliers of New Zealand’s widest range of domestic and industrial elements, controls and spare parts from small appliances to industrial applications.

Smith Elements and Controls Ltd (SEAC for short), started life in 1985 as Smith Agencies Ltd, when Alex and Cecile Smith decided to provide an effective distribution service between manufacturers of electrical and plumbing spare parts and the NZ wholesale/appliance service industries.

Over the intervening years, the product range has expanded to include New Zealand's widest range of heating elements, appliance/ refrigeration controls, surge protectors and spares. The company also moved its operations base from Auckland to the central North Island town of Cambridge in 2000, and changed its name to better reflect its growing product base.

SEAC now represents and/or distributes to the New Zealand aftermarket for a range of companies - Invensys Controls, Electrolux Home Products, Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Sunvic UK, LeesTech Door Controls, Grimwood Heating, Rheem, Hermetic and Deflect-O Venting Systems.

SEAC remains a family owned business with a small dedicated team that prides itself on its customer service focus, providing technical advice and support, competitive pricing and efficient product delivery. Its Cambridge base was expanded in 2007 with the addition of a larger warehouse and office facilities to meet the growing product range and customer needs.
